Food - Week 42: Vegetables
Back to veggies this week. What more can I say? Vegetables are essential to a balanced diet. Sprouts count as vegetables so you may want to store some seeds for sprouting if you are tired of cans and bags of frozen veggies. Also remember tomatoes are vegetables so tomato sauce, pizza sauce, and salsa are all also counted as vegetables.
How you learned to sprout beans and wheat? They are loaded with vitamins so it is time to learn.
While it is late in the season for most of the country - if you have items in the garden still take advantage of them and finish canning.
Store 10 cans, 5 one pound bags of frozen, or a pound of sprouting seeds per family member.
General Store - Week 42: Spare Prescription Glasses, Non-prescription Reading
Glasses, and Contact Lenses.
This week we continue to make arrangements to “see clearly”. This week add eye glasses and contact lenses. If you wear prescription glasses and do not have a backup pair, purchase a pair this week. These do not need to be expensive. Check out local suppliers or order a pair online. There are companies selling online for as little as $20.00. They will not hold up as long but are perfect for your Five Day kit.
If you wear “cheaters” to read purchase a pair or two this week. These are inexpensive so get a few and stash them in your car and Five Day kits.
Finally, wear contacts? Stock up this week if you wear disposable or order an extra pair if you wear the hard lens variety. Can’t afford that? Then really take seriously the challenge to purchase an extra pair of prescription glasses.
