September 9, Week 36
Monday:
Add a pocket-sized First Aid Guide to all kits. Guides can be found online for a few dollars each.
Tuesday:
Time to call the school. Call all the schools your children attend and ask for a copy of their emergency plan. If they do not have one, it’s time to call the school board or parent club and offer to help. With an increase in school disruptions and natural disasters, this is no longer something to assume a school has in place. During the fire in Paradise, California, it was the school evacuating the children that saved them as the town burned.
Wednesday:
Add a few first-aid items to your purse: bandages, individual sanitizing wipes, and a small tube of antibiotic cream.
Thursday:
Add bright yellow or white (not clear) ponchos to auto kits.
Friday:
Add a blanket to all vehicles. If you become stranded or are waiting in traffic at a standstill while evacuating, you may need to keep warm. Blankets can also be used to create shade if stranded in the heat.
Saturday:
Create a list of family, the elderly, and neighbors who may need help during a crisis.
