September 16, Week 37
Monday:
Add any items from the master First Aid Kit supplies chart that you still need and check them off.
Tuesday:
Create a list on your phone and in your binder of the radio stations that will broadcast information during an emergency. If you live near a large city, they may not be reporting on what you need to prepare for in your smaller town nearby.
Wednesday:
Print the water information found on the Totally Ready blog. Read the article and inventory your water supply. Is it being stored properly? How much do you have stored?
Thursday:
Store a quart of water per family member today.
Friday:
If you do not already have one, purchase a water purifier. If you can only afford something small, purchase a water bottle with a purifier and work up to one per family member. These are perfect for Five-Day kits as they are lightweight and can purify any water you may find. Water straws are of little use unless hiking.
Saturday:
We know a water purifier can be expensive, and we have tried to spread out the purchasing of supplies. Today, purchase 2 gallons of 5% white vinegar; it’s not expensive. Vinegar has many uses. Print "vinegar uses" and add it to your Emergency Preparedness Binder. Yes, it is already in your Totally Ready Emergency Binder. I have long ago stopped using fabric softener, vinegar works perfectly and also helps clean your washing machine. It will can be stored indefinitely.
